Beta2-adrenoceptor agonist fenoterol enhances functional repair of regenerating rat skeletal muscle after injury.

Beitzel, Felice; Gregorevic, Paul; Ryall, James G; Plant, David R; Sillence, Martin N; Lynch, Gordon S

2004-04-01

Beta(2)-adrenoceptor agonists such as fenoterol are anabolic in skeletal muscle, and because they promote hypertrophy and improve force-producing capacity, they have potential application for enhancing muscle repair after injury. No previous studies have measured the beta(2)-adrenoceptor population in regenerating skeletal muscle or determined whether fenoterol can improve functional recovery in regenerating muscle after myotoxic injury. In the present study, the extensor digitorum longus (EDL) muscle of the right hindlimb of deeply anesthetized rats was injected with bupivacaine hydrochloride, which caused complete degeneration of all muscle fibers. The EDL muscle of the left hindlimb served as the uninjured control. Rats received either fenoterol (1.4 mg x kg(-1) x day(-1)) or an equal volume of saline for 2, 7, 14, or 21 days. Radioligand binding assays identified a approximately 3.5-fold increase in beta(2)-adrenoceptor density in regenerating muscle at 2 days postinjury. Isometric contractile properties of rat EDL muscles were measured in vitro. At 14 and 21 days postinjury, maximum force production (P(o)) of injured muscles from fenoterol-treated rats was 19 and 18% greater than from saline-treated rats , respectively, indicating more rapid restoration of function after injury. The increase in P(o) in fenoterol-treated rats was due to increases in muscle mass, fiber cross-sectional area, and protein content. These findings suggest a physiological role for beta(2)-adrenoceptor-mediated mechanisms in muscle regeneration and show clearly that fenoterol hastens recovery after injury, indicating its potential therapeutic application.

CHARACTERISTICS OF RAT LIVER EXPOSED TO NANOPARTICLES OF LEAD COMPOUNDS.

Omelchuk, S; Aleksijchuk, V; Sokurenko, L; Blagaia, A; Prudchenko, S

In recent times, the lead becomes great importance in environmental pollution, including its nanoparticles. In the literature, there is little data on the changes in the liver after the exposure with lead nanoparticles. The purpose of this study was the identification and determination of macroscopic, microscopic, and biochemical changes of the structural elements of the rat 's liver exposed to the action of lead compounds. The study was carried out on 60 male Wistar rats . The first and second groups of animals were intraperitoneally injected with colloidal solution of nanoparticles of Lead Sulfide size of 10 nm and 30 nm, and the third group was intraperitoneally injected with a solution of nitrate lead. Macroscopic, histological, histochemical, biochemical methods and gas chromatography were used to identify the changes of fatty acids metabolism. The experiment has found that body weights of animals in all tested groups were decreased after 6 weeks of lead nanoparticles injection, while relative liver weight was increased. Levels of total lipids and cholesterol, total protein and albumin in the blood serum in study groups have decreased, and the level of triglycerides and glucose have increased. Moderate dystrophic changes were observed in the histological examinations of the liver , and this was confirmed by morphometric and densitometric parameters. Changes of fatty acid composition of lipids of the liver exposed to nanoparticles were the result of increasing arachidonic fatty acid content and reduction of the stearic fatty acid content. Thus, it has been proven by the experiment that the effect of lead nanoparticles depends on their size.

Don’t try to comprehend with your mind. Your minds are very limited. Use your intuition. ~ M. L’Engle ( A Wind in the Door )

Instinct. Gut feeling. Hunch. Inkling. Sixth sense. Whatever you like to call it, intuition is the mysterious force in our lives that guides us, protects us, and informs us with insight not usually available or readily present in the conscious mind.

We all possess some degree of intuition; from the most cynical, to the most naive of us. As Einstein once said of intuition:

I sometimes FEEL that I am right. I do not KNOW that I am.

And this is precisely what intuition is at its core: a sudden and inexplicable feeling that arises within us, a feeling that tells us to take this chance, to go down that path, to accept that opportunity, to open that door. Intuition also tells us what not to do, what to be careful of, when to be vigilant and when to stop. As novelist Dean Koontz summarized beautifully:

Intuition is seeing with the soul.

The Soundless Voice

Derived from the Latin word Intueri which means “to look at, to consider”, intuition is associated with the right side of the brain. As you may or may not know, the right side of the brain is responsible for creativity, imagination, musical and artistic aptitude, and emotions as opposed to the left side of the brain which is connected to logic, reasoning, and critical thinking.

So intuition stems from that nonlinear dimension of our minds, that part where unconscious connections and associations are made, and arise within our conscious minds seemingly out of nowhere.

As Joseph Murphy, author of The Power of Your Unconscious Mind notes:

Within your subconscious depths lie infinite wisdom, infinite power, and infinite supply of all that is necessary, which is waiting for development and expression.

Thus, intuition is an amazingly powerful tool, a gift ready and available to us, but often ignored or forgotten.

When Life Whispers, Listen Closely

All throughout history people have listened closely to the whispers of life.

From Dr. Loewi’s intuitive discovery of the chemical transmission of nerve impulses, and Elias Howe’s invention of the sewing machine, to Isaac Newton’s theory of gravity, many great strides in all fields of existence have been attributed to spontaneous sparks of intuition.

Typically, a prospective client seeks out a financial advisor with the hope of finding a professional who:

As one of many financial advisors marketing your servicesonline, Salvatore Ferragamo Suede SquareToe Pumps Professional Cheap Online veSBB4nOzd

First, let’s take a step back and discuss why your onlinepresence is so important. The projected growth of financial advisors in the US is 30% from 2014 – 2024 . That means in the very near future clients will have even more options about with whom they entrust their financial future. How do you stand out online? We have a wild suggestion: be yourself!

Be Authentic

As a financial advisor, it is most likely your goal to build life-long relationships with your clients. That takes two important things: Trust and value (in that order). How can you effectively communicate and establish this to clients online?

Here’s a hint: The 2nd most read page on your website is usually your bio ( or about us page ). Use this page to communicate why you’re in the industry, why you’re passionate about finance, and the experiences you’ve had that make you unique. Be honest and authentic and let people get to know you on a more personal level. Perhaps you work with divorced women and you yourself have gone through a divorce, or perhaps you accumulated debt early in life and want to help others find financial independence as you have.

In fact, the most successful advisors share personal stories and information right on their website or blog, inviting visitors to get to know them better.

First Impressions Matter

Itis critical that all advisorsunderstand the limited amount of time they have to make a first impression.

As mentioned previously, most prospective clients seeking a financial advisor are looking for someone that they are compatible with, someone they can get along with, and someone they can trust and grow with. Leaving a strong first impression through yourbiois the first step in achieving this sense of trust.

Informality Can Go a Long Way

Though so many advisors are different, they often offer similar services. Visit a handful of advisor websites and you’ll soon find that many advisors sound the same.

Behind the financial descriptionsof your services andprocess, don’t be afraid to step outside of the box and get creative with your bio. Include first person language such as “I” and “we” to build rapport, share a glimpse into your life with personal stories, or even share an unexpected canine partner.

Share Your Story

Why did you get into your field of interest? How did you chose your career path? What makes you well equipped to work with a specific group of clients? These are just some of many questions that your prospective client is eager to know. Your client wants to hear and know your purpose onsider sharing a glimpse into your life to build rapport and trust with prospective clients.

Nannette, from Inspiration Financial Planning , shared a bit of her life in her own bio: her own personal story, and the trials she had to face growing up with divorced parents.

By sharing your story, you have a chance of connecting with a potential client on a more meaningful level. Think about your own first impressions of others – we are much more likely to want to reach out and connect with someone we feel we understand a bit about, especially if we feel their story will help them understand us as well.

Personalize, Personalize, Personalize

Along with your professional experiences and educational degrees, don’t be afraid to share a glimpse into the advisor behind the screen- share who you are, share your personal interests, your aspirations, your hobbies. These little yet meaningful descriptions and blurbscan trulyestablish a sense of trust and rapport between you and your prospective client. The viewer of your site may immediately grasp interest in youeven meeting you yet because you both share a personal hobby or trait!

Marjorie Bennett of Tom Ford Snakeskin Woven Sandals Outlet Low Price Fee Shipping j036fsW
took this into consideration when writing herbio on herwebsite. She included both a “professional” bio and “personal” bio. The professional bio outlines her career trajectory, past work experiences, and credentials. Her personal bio talks about her passion for travel, her active lifestyle, and her hobbies. Sharing both types of bios allows Marjorie to connect with clients in a variety of ways, and allows for conversations on topics that may have not come up otherwise.

Needless to say, you can take many approaches with your website bio. You can step outside of the box and share your pet partner in the firm. You can take an informal approach and share a story or glimpse into your life growing up. Or you can share both a professional and personal bio to give more information on the person “behind the suit” and further establish trust and rapport.

If you’re looking to attract clients online, you only havea couple of seconds to leave a great first impression!
